Ken LeMay's Team’s Team is actively involved in The Kitsap Housing Coalition. KHC ‘s mission is to identify, develop and promote programs that assist first time homebuyers in Kitsap County. This is accomplished through homebuyer events and homebuyer workshops, counseling, referrals, coordination of services, and providing available resources to potential homeowners and industry professionals. Local Down Payment Assistance Programs:
1. The City of Bremerton offers a 3% interest second loan of up to $5000 for those whose incomes do not exceed 80% of county median. Loans are a 15-year term and buyers must purchase within Bremerton City limits. You must qualify for a first mortgage from a private lender.
2. The Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority (KCCHA)offers a 0% interest second loan of up to $20,000 for household incomes at or below 80% of county median. Buyers can purchase homes in Kitsap County outside of Bremerton city limits. You must qualify for a first mortgage from a private lender.
3. The Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) House Key Plus is a second loan used with the House Key Bond loan. Depending on household income, can qualify for loan of up to $5000 at 5% interest for a 10-year term. 4. HomeChoiceis a second loan program for persons with a disability or a family member with a disability living with them. Borrowers must be first-time buyers or buying in a targeted area. Local Loan Programs:
WSHFC HOUSE KEY BOND PROGRAM- The Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) provides below market interest rate loans to low and moderate-income first-time homebuyers, used in conjunction with FHA, VA, Rural Housing Services (RHS) or certain conventional loan programs. USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT- The USDA Rural Development provides financing to low and moderate income families for purchase and repair of homes in rural areas. There is no down payment required and loans can include repairs and closing costs. May qualify for lower interest rate loan. Call 360-452-8994 for more information.
KITSAP COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY SELF-HELP PROGRAM- The Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority's (KCCHA) Mutual Self-Help Program makes homes affordable, by enabling future homeowners to work on homes themselves as part of a team effort.
